The way the Internet Changed Timekeeping Permanently

Water lamps, also called clepsydras, were another ancient innovation, employed by civilizations including the Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese. They tested time by the regulated movement of water from one container to another. Water clocks were more reliable than sundials since they are often applied indoors and at night.
